KY Coal Academy at BSCTC

The Kentucky Coal Academy Coal Career Program is a collaborative effort for workforce development. The partnering members include: Excel Mining, Booth Energy and Big Sandy Community and Technical College.

The Program was formed to attract more miners into the industry. The average age of the current mining workforce is 49 years old. This consortium hopes to address the expected need for workers in the near future.

Kentucky needs 3500 new coal miners immediately! The Kentucky Coal Academy will provide the training for new miners and existing miners to fill the need. Do you have what it takes to be a miner?
